Q: What is the Bird City Comedy Festival?
A: Bird City Comedy Festival is an alt-comedy festival taking place in Downtown Phoenix March 26-28, 2020. Featuring the very best in stand up, improv, sketch, storytelling and more, Bird City Comedy Festival was named “best new festival” by the Phoenix New Times and “one of the best comedy festivals in the world” by Vulture.

A: Bird City Comedy Festival takes place at Unexpected Gallery (734 W. Polk, Phoenix) across three stages.
Q: How do I purchase tickets and festival passes?
A: You can purchase tickets to individual shows by visiting the schedule page of this website or the specific show pages. There are options to purchase tickets on each of these pages. Space permitting, you can also purchase tickets at the door.
Q: What kind of passes do you offer?
A: We offer a three-day pass for $75 which gets you into all festival events. For $15 more, our VIP pass includes all three days and nights of events plus priority seating and the festival t-shirt of your choice. You can purchase both here.
Q: I ordered tickets or passes online. How do I get them?
A: You should receive a copy of your ticket/pass through email that you can present at the door. If you are having trouble finding purchased tickets/passes, someone at Will Call will be able to assist you. For passes, please present your email confirmation to redeem it for a badge to wear for the entire festival.
Q: Are tickets and passes general admission or are there assigned seats?
A: Most seats are general admission and on a first-come, first-served. We do offer priority seating to VIP pass holders. Please arrive early to guarantee optimal seating.
Q: Is there an age requirement for festival shows?
A: All festival shows are 21+.
Q: Will there be food and drinks for sale at the shows?
A: Yes. We offer a selection of beer, wine and soft drinks as well as a rotating schedule of food trucks throughout the festival.
Q: How long do the shows last?
A: Show length will vary from event to event, but most will run about 90 minutes.
Q: Do you need volunteers for the festival?
A: We definitely do! Please visit our volunteer page to check out open positions and sign up.
Q: Are the venues handicapped accessible?
A: All of our stages are accessible, though if you have a question about a specific show, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate any accessibility requests. Please contact us at info@birdcitycomedyfestival.com
Q: May I take photos or video of the festival?
A: We allow non-flash photography. However, flash photography and videos require prior permission from festival runners. Unauthorized photos or videos could be grounds for removal from the festival. To request permission, please email us at info@birdcitycomedyfestival.com.
Q: I’m a comedian. Do you have any stage time for me at the festival?
A: Each night of the festival, we have the Little Bird Showcase where stand ups can get five minutes of stage time. From each showcase, one comedian will be offered a longer spot on another festival show. You may sign up for a showcase here.
Q: I’m a comedian who missed submissions this year. When will submissions open for 2021?
A: Submissions for 2021 will open September 15, 2020 and close December 15, 2020. To receive email notifications about submissions, you may sign up here. However, you are welcome to sign up for one of our many festival open mics.
Q: I’m a member of the press and would like to cover Bird City. Can I get a free pass?
A: To apply for a press pass, please contact us at info@birdcitycomedyfestival.com with your press credentials.
Q: Are tickets and passes refundable?
